Another video about fast food.

Here is another video dealing with the topic of fast food. It is a video made by an American student who seems to be quite well informed. Below is the link to the original post in this blog (2011), so you just have to click on it.

FAST FOOD

Nevermind it was originally posted for ESO students, it is OK for your level.

Listening: CLOTHING FOR ALL SEASONS!

Here you will find a good listening for all bachillerato students, specially for students in the 1st year, since we have already studied some vocabulary related to clothes in class. However, this listening is useful for all bachillerato students. As usual, you have to follow these instructions:

- Do the pre-listening exercise.
- In the listening exercise, read the questions and possible answers before playing the audio.
- Listen to the audio twice, then check your "Final Score".
- Finally, play the audio while you read the text (click on the "Quiz Script" link)
- Then do the vocabulary activities
- Post-listening activities are optional.

CLOTHING FOR ALL SEASONS!

Please, publish a comment telling us how you scored and what you think about the listening. You may include the pre-listening and the post-listening (if you've done it) exercises so I can correct them.

2.- Which urban tribe has Asian parents?
3.- Which of the groups are followers of Kurt Cobain?
4.- Who wears tight t-shirts, studded belts, skate shoes, black glasses and often a fringe brushed to one side of the face?
5.- The members of which tribe often drive aggressively?

Healithy food-

If you have seen the video about McDonalds fries you might be considering changing your eating habits. In this post you'll be able to practise your listening skills by listening to a conversation between a young boy and his father about snacks. Please, follow the instructions below.

- Do the pre-listening activity
- In the listening exercises, read the questions carefully before playing the audio, as they will give you some clues about what the conversation is about.
- Then listen to the conversation and click on the answers. You may listen to the conversation twice. When you've finished, click on the "Final Score" button to get your results
- After that do the vocabulary exercises, checking your score for each of them.
- The "Post-listening" exercise is a writing exercise, so you'd better not do that one, as we are having enough writing practice in class.

Please, let me know how you've done in a comment to the post.

French fries... YUMMY???

If you like going to fast food restaurants, have a look at this video It is an excerpt from the documentary "Supersize me", in which Morgan Spurlock, an American filmmaker, spent 30 days eating only hamburguers and other meals from McDonalds, in order to check the physical and psichological effects this may have.

In this part, he shows that McDonalds food takes much longer to break down than others. breaking down is a natural process which all food undergoes, but McDonalds products are treated so that this process is slowed down, which may have negative effects on the human body. Will you eat McDonalds fries after watching this?

YUMMY

I hope you enjoyed it. Please, publish your comments, and remember to write your name and group if you don't log in. Bye.

Two more songs.

Music is a great way to practise English. This time I have chosen a girl with a really remarkable voice. This song is very powerful both because of Adele's vocal power and also because of the bitter, tormented lyrics.

ROLLING IN THE DEEP

This other song is just beautiful, although it is a little sad too. However, it is a classic song, and I hope you enjoy it.

DUST IN THE WIND

Have a nice weekend!!
